About the Program:
Format: In person group sessions.
Duration: 8 weeks, with 1.5-hour weekly sessions every Wednesday (starting in March 4th 2026).
Initial Consultation: 15mins Complementary Initial Consultation before joining. This ensures our psychologist can get to know you and ensure the program is tailored to your needs.
Payment: The cost for the 8 weeks program is $975.00. Payment for the program must be made upfront to secure your place in the program.
What You’ll Learn:
The program covers eight weekly modules:
Week 1: Understanding My Child - What is Autism, ADHD and PDA
Build a clear, neuroaffirming understanding of autism, ADHD, and PDA.
Learn how neurodiversity shapes your child’s behaviour, needs, and strengths.
Feel less alone by connecting with other parents on a similar journey.
Week 2: Why Big Feelings and Meltdowns Happen
Understand why behaviours happen instead of just reacting to them.
Learn how triggers and environments influence meltdowns.
Start using practical tools to reduce stress and escalation at home.
Week 3: Supporting Meltdowns
Apply simple behaviour-analysis tools to real-life family situations.
Identify patterns that may be unintentionally reinforcing behaviours.
Gain confidence choosing responses that support long-term change.
Week 4: Supporting My Child’s Self-esteem
Shift from “fixing problems” to recognising and building strengths.
Support executive functioning through routines, visuals, and positive guidance.
Learn how to reframe challenges in ways that build confidence and resilience.
Week 5: Connection Through Communication
Strengthen everyday communication through routines, play, and connection.
Learn practical strategies to support language, understanding, and emotions.
Build deeper connections by communicating with your child, not just to them.
Week 6: Navigating Emotional Regulation
Understand emotional regulation and why it’s challenging for many children.
Learn tools like Zones of Regulation and problem-size scaling.
Support your child through emotions using connection instead of punishment.
Week 7: Understanding Anger & Effective Rewards
Learn how anger develops and how to respond before it escalates.
Use routines, visuals, and rewards in ways that truly support behaviour.
Strengthen co-regulation skills so your child can learn to self-regulate over time.
Week 8: Looking After Myself, My Child, and Our Future
Recognise and prevent parental burnout through realistic self-care.
Build boundaries, support networks, and a sustainable parenting approach.
Reflect on growth and leave with confidence, clarity, and practical next steps.
Eligibility Criteria:
To ensure the program is a good fit:
Age: Designed for Parents/Carers of children 5-12 developmentally.
Commitment: Ability to attend all 8 weekly sessions.
Ongoing Individual Support: Must have an individual psychologist/Occupational Therapist. If you don’t, we can connect you with one of our experienced Psychologists or Occupational Therapists.
Referral: Not required to join
